This year's Unlimited International MoM Slope Race will be held at Davenport on May 31-June 1, 2008. Davenport is home to the legendary ISR MoM race which is held every spring on the California coastal bluffs overlooking Waddell Creek State beach. The race draws competitors from up and down California and never fails to provide excitement for both Man on Man racing fans and pilots alike. NorCal Slope Soarers, Inc. (NCSS) is hosting the race this year.

How to Enter

To enter the race, go to the bottom of this page and provide all requested information. When you click Submit, your name will be added in the order received and all your information will be forwarded to this year's race coordinator Scott Woodward. To complete your entry, you must pay the entry fee and submit the signed liability waiver by May 21, 2008, just like your taxes! Scott will follow up with race details and possible channel conflicts as needed.

Qualification

This year's race will continue using the process developed last year to select the slate of 33 competitors. The intention of this process is to ensure fairness while also giving a nod to past performance:

The top 15 pilots from the last year are automatically guaranteed a spot at this year's race if they desire. Pre-qualified pilots MUST STILL REGISTER on this signup page! (Last year's results here: http://www.davenportisr.com/2007/DavenportISR2007_Results.pdf)
All other pilots will go onto the signup list with no particular preference.
On May 21, 2008, pre-qualified pilots will be immediately added to the race. The remaining slots to a total of 33, will be chosen by lottery from the rest of the pilots on the signup list.
Any openings due to pre-qualified or lottery selected pilots dropping out or failing to provide their entry fee and/or signed release by the due date of May 21, 2008, will be filled using a lottery from the remaining pilots on the waiting list.
It is recommended that pilots on the waiting list send in their signed release and entry fees in advance. This way spots can be filled immediately when they become available.
Pilots on the waiting list who are not granted a spot at the race, will be returned any submitted race fees.
Confirmed pilots who cancel before May 21, 2008 will be returned any submitted race fees.

Please include the weight of your planes in ounces. The area should be listed in square feet and should include the measured projected wing plus tail areas. See ISR Calc.xls to calculate the area for your plane(s). The allowed limits are based on the FAI maximum all up flying weight of 5 kg (11.023 lbs. or 176.37 oz.) and maximum surface loading of 75 g/dm^2 (24.58 oz/ft^2) based on total projected area. To check the surface loading of your plane(s), divide the weight in ounces by the projected surface area in square feet.
